Lacey Belle is 4 months old!! She weighs exactly 13 lbs and is curious about everything these days. I just transitioned her into 3-6 month clothes but alot of them are still too big on her. She has found her voice and squeals/talks often. She loves her puppy "Ruffy", being outside and watching everything her fur sisters do.
Dearest Lacey Belle,
This past month has been quite the roller coaster. Good days and nights when you'd sleep for 7 hours straight...followed by very long days of no naps and waking almost every hour at night. We conquered your first noticeable growth spurt and some major tummy/gas issues that threw our schedule for a loop. In between the tough days were calm ones and plenty of happy moments still. While sometimes it feels like the hard days will never end, I know that one day I'll want this time back. So I have chosen to try not to complain as much and instead find the joy in everything. Some of the happy moments this month were finally getting you into a semi solid routine at nighttime and better schedule (in between the off days of course). You're sleeping better in the pack and play and sleep all curled up on your side (just like mommy does). You love your leg exercises to help with gas and being in your seat in the kitchen with us when we cook. You have rolled over three times so far (all from your tummy to your back). You love talking to mommy and are giggling often now which is so precious! Patty cake is still your favorite and you have really been enjoying playtime lately. You are starting to become more agitated with being in your swing often and would much rather be held and talked to. You enjoy tummy time a lot more now and are also wanting to be sitting up frequently--even when in your car seat or swing you're always trying to sit up more and I like to joke you're doing crunches lol. Big fur sister Trixie is always nearby and she loves laying by you during tummy time. Probably the cutest thing that happened with you this month was when we went to Walmart and got your new puppy. I found a German Shepherd stuffed doll and you absolutely loved it! You smiled and giggled, never taking your eyes off it for probably 5+ minutes while I played with it to distract you. It was the cutest thing ever! You loved the doll so much that we had to buy it for you. The rest of the cart ride thru the store you hugged and played with the puppy "Ruffy" and you haven't stopped since. You smile and giggle at it, hug it constantly and we bring it on our family walks. It completely warms my heart and makes me so happy to see you so happy (and for you to have your own little German Shepherd puppy). We went to your first baseball game this month. It was a little rough on mommy cuz you were a little fussy, hungry and tired, but we still had fun. You didn't particularly care for just sitting in our seats or all the loud clapping everyone around us did. But you were a champ during the fireworks! You didn't make a peep even with the loud bangs during the fireworks show and enjoyed watching all the flashing lights in the sky. I can't wait to take you to more games as you grow and hope you grow to love baseball as much as I do. We also took you on your first mini road trip to Wilmington for the day on Labor Day. You did so well out and about walking all day and really seemed to enjoy being outside. I love that you enjoy our outings and adventures because there are plenty more to come within the next few months! You are the cutest, beautiful, more precious little girl and I am so blessed to call you mine! Happy 4 months of life my little mermaid!
Love,
Mommy
