Letters to Lacey Belle: 8 Months

1/6/2018
Lacey Belle is 8 months old!! She has two little teeth now and is sitting up well on her own. She is planking and getting into the crawling position frequently. She fought off her first cold and has started screaming often on the top of her lungs for no reason while playing. She is sleeping in her nursery/crib full time and is up to 2 baby food meals a day now. She dislikes having her face wiped and loves reading her My Little Pony books, giving hugs and Christmas lights.

Dearest Lacey Belle,

How has it been 8 months already since you were born?! I can't believe its been so long already. It feels like you were born just yesterday and now you're only a few months away from turning 1! The time has really been flying by! Everyone told me it would but it seems to be moving so much faster since I had you then it ever did before. You are now at the stage where it's hard to get you to sit still. You are constantly wanting to roll around and be on the move. I had such a hard time capturing your normal monthly photos laying down this month cuz you kept trying to roll over so we did most of them sitting up lol. You are now sitting up pretty good on your own but I still like to use the boppy pillow for ease of mind. You now have two little teeth! It's so cute seeing you smile and seeing those little teeth. You're growing too fast! This past month has been a lot for you and on mommy! We haven't been home much this month so it's been a little tougher but you're still your happy self. We traveled to Kansas to meet daddy's side of the family and you got to experience your first plane flight. You did well on the flights just got a little fussy on the 2nd flight due to being tired. You didn't sleep well on the plane because you're used to stretching out and moving around in your crib so it was hard for you to get comfy being cooped up on our laps. You were a little trooper though! You loved your cousins in Kansas but the trip was overall a bit stressful on mommy because you didn't sleep much the whole time. You woke up almost every hour every night and you didn't nap hardly at all during the days. I'm not sure if it was just being in a new place, the pack n play you have to sleep in or your teething pain but you were not a happy camper and that didn't help mommy either lol. You were so happy when we got home you smiled and loved looking around your room and you loved having your fur sisters home with us too! While in Kansas you had a couple new firsts...you planked for a solid 30+ seconds which was so crazy! We also went to Build-A-Bear and you were able to help make your first stuffed dolls: Dancer, a Christmas reindeer & Rainbow Dash, a My Little Pony. You love them! It was so fun watching you enjoy Build-A-Bear so much and always look for your Rainbow Dash and want to play with it afterwards. You are just too cute! You are now getting into the crawling position more frequently but still have yet to actually crawl--you always scoot around and like Army crawl on your tummy. You have also started screaming for no reason at all when you're playing. You're not upset you just like screaming lol I think you just like hearing yourself make new noises. Since you have been not sleeping well at night (still) I decided to go ahead and transition you into sleeping in your crib/nursery and you are now in there full time now. You are up to eating two baby food meals a day (one in the morning and one at night) and I'm also working on trying to bottle feed you a little more too. We celebrated your first Christmas in Virginia with mommy's side of the family. You didn't know what to think of opening presents up but you loved all your new toys and books (your My Little Pony books were your favorite). You fought off your first cold that daddy and mommy passed around and all the family at Christmas had. We also celebrated your first New Years at home just our little family. This past month has been such a busy one its been hard to catch our breath and just chill. You are growing and changing so much everyday. I love watching you and can't wait to see what's to come next month for us! I love you so much and feel so blessed to be your mommy and get to spend everyday home with you! You are mommy's little joy! Happy 8 months of life my little sweetie!

Love,
Mommy
