Letters to Lacey Belle: As We Welcome Baby Brother

Dearest Lacey Belle,

As we prepare to welcome Baby Brother there are a few things I just want you to know. While things are about to change as we add another little one to the family--you will always be my little baby girl. My first born, my buggy, my little mermaid, my snuggly girl, my little love, my sweetie, my princess, my little mommy's girl. I will do my very best to always let you know just how much I love you, to find ways to include you and let you help with Baby Brother. I will do all that I can to never let you feel left out or pushed to the back burner. I love you so very much my sweet, sweet girl. I have loved every single moment (the good and the bad) and the special bond we have shared since you were born. Just because another little one is coming into the family does not mean that those things will go away. I promise we will still have our special mommy/daughter time. I will still read stories to you, play with you, put you to bed at night and snuggle you every chance that I get.

I am so excited to continue to watch you as you grow and to see you as you take on your new role as a big sister. Since you were so young when we found out you were going to be a big sister (just 8 months old) and still young during my whole pregnancy--I know you haven't been able to comprehend what is going on or that all our lives are about to change in such a big way. You are a champ and I know you'll adjust and do so well. You love babies and little kids now whenever you see one so I know you'll just love Baby Brother too.

I hope you never get jealous of all the attention Baby Brother needs or dislike the fact that things will change. I hope you love Baby Brother just as much as you love your fur sisters and that you grow to have the most special bond with him. You will both be so close in age (approximately 16 1/2 months) that I hope you both will become best friends and always have each others backs. I can't wait to see all that you two will do together and all that you will teach Baby Brother.

Love,
Mommy
