Letters to Weston: 6 Months

3/10/2019
Weston is 6 months old! He weighs 17 lbs and loves his veggies. He is sitting up pretty good on his own now (still wobbly at times) and is on the verge of crawling (just has yo figure out how to use his legs and arms at the same time). He has been fussy due to teething but no teeth thru his gums yet. I'm working on getting him into a regular nap time/going to sleep routine. He has little dimples in his chin when he laughs/smiles which is precious! He loves: spending time with daddy, eating his veggies & playing peek-a-boo. He dislikes: bath time and burping.

Dearest Weston,

Wow you are 6 months old. How are you already half a year old? It seems like you were just born. It's been a whirlwind 6 months. So many unknowns and changes and adjustments and trials and triumphs. You are back to not liking bath time much and you also dislike burping. You are now eating some veggies and love them. Peek-a-boo is your favorite activity currently. It is so cute watching you light up when we play it with you. You even play it on your own which I love watching. I discovered you have little chin dimples when you laugh and smile now--I absolutely LOVE them--just another level of cuteness to you. You can put your paci in and out of your mouth on your own now. You scoot around on her forehead and legs some now. You are right on the verge of crawling--you can push up with your legs and arms underneath you but just need to master how to move them at the same time. You have been very fussy lately due to teething and still no teeth to show for it. We had a couple unfortunate events this month too. You had your first fall off the bed. It scared us all but mommy most of all. Thankfully you were alright with just a sore shoulder but it still scared me so much. You are not allowed on the beds without an adult right by you anymore--you simply roll around too much. Your favorite sleeping place (aka the swing) broke this month so now we have to sit beside you and manually rock you or find another solution. I have been wanting to get you to sleep in the pack n play anyway but the swing was so convenient and you loved it so that has been a hard transition too. Due to that occurrence I have decided to start working on a better sleeping arrangement and schedule--I plan to get you into a solid 1 morning and 1 afternoon nap time routine. Once you start crawling and getting tuckered out more it will be easier to get into as well. This month has seemed to be the start of some tougher times again. But there have still been plenty of happy moment too. We celebrated your 1st Valentine's Day this month and I celebrated by getting you and sister cutesy onesies and doing a mini photo shoot with you both. I am so thankful to be your mommy, to get to stay home with you, and watch you grow everyday! I love you! Happy 6 months of life my little slugger!!

Love,
Mommy
